Fremont School District 79 Technology Department’s role is to support, maintain and develop an atmosphere for educational technologies and their associated 21st century critical thinking skills. Fremont’s programs drive the need for specific technologies in the classroom and not the implementation of technology for technology sake. Because our teachers and staff have the skills to engage our students in a safe and forward thinking environment, it is important to keep their technology skills current. The Technology Department conducts trainings when skills need to be refreshed and when new technologies are implemented.

Broadcasting Live with Ustream.TV Although we haven't received our new Internet service yet, MAPs testing is complete, and we figured we would attempt a live stream from our Intermediate School Media Center. Using the free Ustream service you can view a live feed of Mrs. Wadin's duck eggs. Keep your eyes open! You may be able to watch them hatch!
180 teacher Macbooks were ordered, tagged, inventoried, imaged and in teachers' hands within two weeks. If you would like a bit of a glimpse at what it takes to accomplish this amazing feat, please view the above video. The technology department is also working with maintenance to build ELMO carts.
