Fremont promotes National School Bus Safety Week. Twenty-five buses traveled over 450,000 miles last year to take students safely to and from school within the district's 34 square miles.
After a nationwide search, AASA, The School Superintendents Association, has selected 20 accomplished women leaders from school districts across the country to participate in the inaugural cohort of the AASA Aspiring Women Leaders Program. Elizabeth Freeman, director of innovative learning, Teaching and Technology, Fremont School District 79, was so named.

District 79 will apply a lawn care product application on its grounds of all Fremont SD79 schools on October 10, 2016 ( rain date of October 12, 2016 ).
