PTO at a Glance

  • The Fremont School District 79 Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. The PTO coordinates fundraisers to provide programs and projects to benefit all the students who attend FSD79 schools.

  • Looking for more information on what the PTO is up to, and how you can help? Make sure you've joined the Fremont PTO group on Facebook. Simply enter "Fremont PTO" in the search bar and you'll answer two questions to gain entry into the group. Once approved, you'll find detailed committee descriptions, school happenings, volunteer opportunities, and an active community that helps to answer questions. For questions contact

Reading Rally and Pajama Party

  • Wear your favorite pajamas and come listen to teachers and staff read their favorite stories at the Intermediate School Friday, November 15. Visit 3 read-aloud sessions with teachers around the school, then stop by the Wildcat Cave and get a new bedtime story at the book fair (open until 8 p.m.). 

Yard Sign

  • Show your Fremont pride with a "Home Of a Wildcat" yard sign. Please email Christie Johnson at for a link to the electronic form, then send in $20 (cash or check made out to FSD79 PTO) to the Fremont Elementary School front office.

  • If you enjoy putting together projects for kids, we could use your help in the K-5 classrooms. We have plenty of resources and training sessions available to help you with any level. The classroom teacher is also there to assure you have a positive experience. You do NOT need to have a background in teaching or art. Contact Jen Crow for more information:

Save The Date - Parents Night Out

  • Book your babysitters now so you can join us for a Casino Night at Hawthorn Woods Country Club on Saturday, January 25. See this flyer for more details.

Box Tops

  • Thank you to all who turned in clipped box tops as well as those who have been scanning their receipts! Please continue to do both throughout the school year. We will have another contest in the spring. The winners for the fall contest are:

Electronic Birthdays

  • Everyone in the Fremont School District 79 community can celebrate their child's special day! “Happy Birthday, Your Child’s Name” can appear on the Fremont School District 79 electronic message board on the district's campus on Fremont Center Road. Please fill out a birthday form, available in school offices, or email Christie Johnson at for an electronic form. Send in $5 per child for the birthday message (cash or check accepted) before the birthday is scheduled to appear.

Holiday Spirit Wear Sale

  • Did you love your spirit wear from the fall order? Did you miss out and want to get something now? Visit this link using the password Fremont before the sale ends November 15 to see the different options. There are many favorites from the Fall sale along with new options, including winter hats!     • All orders are custom made. Please allow approximately three weeks from the sale end date (11/15) for your order to be delivered to your child. 
    • The sale will close on November 15th, with no late exceptions so that all orders are delivered before our winter break.
    • Each item is unique and comes from different manufacturers so PLEASE check the sizing guide closely on EACH item you are purchasing. 
    • The girl's/women's sizing tends to be more fitted. 
    • You will get a confirmation email from Cotton and Ink once you have placed your order.  Please check it carefully to ensure you ordered the correct size.

Holiday Boutique

  • Want to get a head start on your holiday shopping? Join us Saturday, November 16 at the Intermediate School from 9am-3pm to shop from a variety of vendors. There's even a kid's only Holiday Gift Shop where your children can choose their own gifts to give family and friends! Committee Chairs

  • President: Stacie Brown, Stacie is in her fourth year on the PTO board and has been working hard on the Ways and Means committee, volunteering at PTO events as well as serving as the Elementary Vice President. She has a fourth grader, a second grader and a younger child at home.

    Lincoln Vice President: Janelle Martinez, This is Janelle's second year on the PTO board but has been active in her children's classrooms and volunteering at other PTO events. She has a seventh grader, a fourth grader, a kindergartener and a younger child at home.

    Elementary Vice President: Sue Lee, Sue is in her fourth year on the PTO board and has been active in her children's classrooms and volunteering at the book fairs and other PTO events. She has a fifth grader, a third grader, a second grader and a younger child at home.

    Intermediate Vice President:  Jen Arroyo, Jen is in her seventh year serving on the PTO. She is always willing to help wherever needed. Being an elementary school principal she has a great perspective. She has a fourth grader, a first grader, and a younger child at home.

    Middle School Vice President: Kristie Paul, Kristie has been active in the PTO for many years and has a served as the President, Treasurer and on many committees. She has a son who is a junior at Illinois State University, a daughter who is a freshman at the University of Missouri, a daughter who is a freshman at Mundelein High School and a daughter who is in 6th grade. Kristie also works at the Middle School.

    Secretary: Jennifer Knop, This is Jennifer’s second year on the PTO board, but she has been involved with the PTO since her oldest child started at Fremont. Jennifer has a fifth grader, a third grader and a younger child at home.

    Treasurer: Christie Johnson, Christie has been an active PTO member for many years and has volunteered on many of the different PTO committees. She has a sixth grader and two freshmen at Mundelein High School. Christie works at the elementary school.
