Social-Emotional Learning
Fremont School District 79’s goal is to cultivate a school environment of true kindness and belonging where every student’s unique identity, background, and voice are explicitly protected. Grounded in emotional intelligence, this work is built upon the RULER framework and directly supports our Portrait of a Graduate goals to help students become Resilient Learners, Responsible Citizens, and Courageous Leaders.
Through our commitment to social-emotional learning, we utilize RULER's Four Anchor Tools to build community safety, empathy, and self-regulation:
The Charter: Establishing common norms and shared emotional expectations for our school community.
The Mood Meter: Developing emotional awareness and vocabulary to recognize and understand feelings.
The Meta-Moment: Teaching actionable de-escalation and reflection strategies to manage strong emotions before responding.
The Blueprint: Facilitating restorative problem-solving, empathy, and conflict resolution.
