Summer School Programs
Summer Adventures in Learning
Summer Adventures in Learning is an enrichment program that offers a variety of interest-based classes for students at FSD79, which may include art, language, science, or other fun topics. This program runs from June 15- July 2 (no classes June 19) with classes from 8:50 to 10:25 a.m. or 10:40 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Each class will cost $75 and bus transportation can also be provided for $20/week. Registration will be open between January 16 and April 10.

Summer Boost Program
Students can sign up for this virtual asynchronous program over the summer where they will be paired with a teacher to practice Reading and/or Math. This program will run from June 15 until July 24. There is no cost to this program. Registration will be open between February 2026 and April 2026.

Summer Scholars Program
The Summer Scholars program is an invitation-only program that offers students the opportunity to work with a teacher in the areas of reading and math during the summer. Teachers will work with students in small groups or individually and target specific skills based on their spring NWEA MAP score. This program runs from June 11 - July 2 from 8:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no cost for the program and students will be provided bus transportation if needed. Parents will be notified if students are invited to participate in this program in February. Please respond before Spring Break to keep your spot. Waitlist families will be invited after Spring Break.

Multilingual Summer Program
The Multilingual Summer Program is an invitation-only program that offers students with a second language the ability to build their language skills in the areas of: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Certified English as a Second Language Teachers will work with small groups of students to build language skills. This program runs from June 11 to July 2 (no classes June 19) from 8:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no cost for the program, and students will be provided bus transportation if needed. Parents will be notified if students are invited to participate in this program.

ESY
Extended School Year (ESY) is an invitation-only program provided to qualifying students with IEPs. Students qualify for ESY at the recommendation of their IEP team. ESY services are provided by special education team members and focus on student IEP goals. This program runs from June 11 - July 2 (no classes June 19) from 8:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for students currently in grades K-7. The details of the Early Childhood ESY program at TBD. There is no cost for the program, and students will be provided bus transportation if needed. Parents will be notified if students are invited to participate in this program.
