Kindergarten Registration 2024-25

Kindergarten registration is underway for the 2024-2025 school year. There is no charge for full-day kindergarten in FSD79. In the event a family still wishes to enroll their child in half-day kindergarten, this option will be for the a.m. only.  If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024, email kindergarten@fsd79.org and request the kindergarten registration online link to begin the registration process. Please contact Christie Johnson at cjohnson@fsd79.org or 847-837-0437 ext. 2007 with any questions.

Required Kindergarten Registration Documents for 2024-2025

The following documents are required from all incoming kindergarten students and must be emailed to cjohnson@fsd79.org; dropped off or mailed to Fremont Elementary School, 28908 N. Fremont Center Road, Mundelein, IL 60060:

  • A copy of the original child’s birth certificate with the certified seal affixed to verify that the child is 5-years-old on or before September 1, 2024. PLEASE NOTE: You may be required to provide the original Birth Certificate at a later date to our district office. (DUE ASAP)
  • For homeowners, a copy of your current tax bill or current mortgage statement. (DUE ASAP)
  • For renters, a copy of your full lease agreement. The lease agreement should have names of all tenants, including children. (DUE ASAP)
  • A copy of a photo ID of parent/guardian. (DUE ASAP)
  • A current utility bill (gas, water or electric) with your current address. (DUE ASAP) 
  • Home Language Survey - Please complete and sign this home language survey only if your child lives in a home where another language other than English is spoken or if your child speaks another language other than English. (DUE ASAP)
  • Acceptable Technology Use Procedures (DUE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - AUGUST 15, 2024)
  • Emergency Card/Student Health Information (DUE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - AUGUST 15, 2024)
  • Illinois Physical and Immunizations, Dental and Vision Forms - Proof of 5 year physical/immunizations, dental exam and vision exam. For more information and forms, click on the Health Services tab to the left. (DUE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - AUGUST 15, 2024)

Violations

WARNING: If a student is determined to be a non-resident of the District for whom tuition must be charged, the persons enrolling the student are liable for non-resident tuition from the date the student began attending a District school as a non-resident.

A person who knowingly enrolls or attempts to enroll in this School District on a tuition-free basis a student known by that person to be a nonresident of the District is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, except in very limited situations as defined in State law (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12b(e).

A person who knowingly or willfully presents to the School District any false information regarding the residency of a student for the purpose of enabling that student to attend any school in the District without the payment of a nonresident tuition charge is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12b(f).
