Kindergarten Registration 2025-26

Welcome to Fremont School District 79. In order to register your student in District 79 you will need to complete the online registration information. If you have questions about the online registration process (i.e. residency) or if you do not own a computer and/or do not have internet access please contact:

1. Determine Eligibility

Do you live in Fremont School District 79 boundaries?

Per Illinois law (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12) and Board of Education policy (7.60 Residence), only students who are legal residents of District 79 may attend school in the district.

2. Complete Online Registration

Follow the New Student Registration Link to begin the registration process. 

Please note: Parents/guardians are welcome to attend Kindergarten Information & Registration Night on May 15, 2025, anytime from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and learn more about Kindergarten at FSD79 from our principal at 5:30 p.m. and a repeat at 7:00 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. 3. Required Documentation

An email will be sent to you once the online registration has been received. The email will list the required documents in detail. These documents will include the following:

  1. A certified copy of the child's birth certificate to verify that the child is 5-years-old on or before September 1, 2025. Please note this must be verified in person by office staff and can be brought to Kindergarten Registration Night on May 15. If unable to attend, please email Christie Johnson.
  2. Photo ID of parent/guardian (Due ASAP)
  3. Proof of Residency (English | Español | Polski | हिंदी) (Due ASAP)
  4. Required additional school forms (Due the first day of school, Aug. 21, 2025)
  5. Illinois Dental, Vision, Physical and Immunization forms (Due the first day of school, Aug. 21, 2025)

All families will have their residency verified by CLEAR on an annual basis. Additional proof of residency for the 2025-2026 school year may be requested by the school district which may include a home visit conducted by school district officials.

4. Pay Registration Fees

ONLINE
All student registration fees can be paid through TeacherEase parent accounts. All fees are due by the first day of school.

IN-PERSON
Fees can be paid in person via check at the District Office. Checks should be made payable to Fremont School District 79.

Violations

WARNING: If a student is determined to be a non-resident of the District for whom tuition must be charged, the persons enrolling the student are liable for non-resident tuition from the date the student began attending a District school as a non-resident.

A person who knowingly enrolls or attempts to enroll in this School District on a tuition-free basis a student known by that person to be a nonresident of the District is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, except in very limited situations as defined in State law (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12b(e).

A person who knowingly or willfully presents to the School District any false information regarding the residency of a student for the purpose of enabling that student to attend any school in the District without the payment of a nonresident tuition charge is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor (105 ILCS 5/10-20.12b(f).

Health Services

Children who experience specific medical conditions (ex. Allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures) may need to submit additional forms. Please review the Health Services page for additional information and forms.
