Courtney Wilhelm Billittier Appointed to Board of Education

Fremont School District 79’s Board of Education appointed Courtney Wilhelm Billittier to the school board at a Special Meeting on August 10, 2026.

Wilhelm Billittier, whose term runs through April 2027, succeeds Michael Jandes. Jandes resigned in June after more than 13 years of dedicated service to focus on personal commitments.

“We are fortunate to have such an engaged Fremont community interested in serving our schools. Courtney stood out given her deep knowledge of our community and schools,” FSD79 School Board President Gabriela Whipple said. “She has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to education, and we are thrilled to have her serve our students and community.”

A Fremont graduate and parent of two current and one future FSD79 students, Wilhelm Billittier has been an active member of the Fremont PTO, including serving as Parent Liaison during the 2025-2026 school year. She also represented parents on the District’s recent AI Think Tank and served on the 2024 Fremont Elementary School principal interview committee.

A Mundelein resident, Wilhelm Billittier has taught social studies at William Fremd High School since 2011. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history/social-science education from Illinois State University, and master’s degrees in history from Northeastern Illinois University and school counseling from Concordia University Chicago.

“I am honored to serve and give back to the Fremont community,” Willhem Billittier said. “I will strive to ensure current and future students continue to receive the outstanding education FSD79 is known for.”
