Students Portray Historical Figures

Wax Museum Fifth-grade students portrayed Alexander Hamilton, Squanto, and Lafayette during a live wax museum in which over 50 fifth graders from Fremont Intermediate School represented famous figures.

Students studied a span of history from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War. To engage students in the learning process, students researched an historical figure, dressed the part of the person, and then retold meaningful stories from the person’s life during the class’ wax museum.

“We think this project makes learning more meaningful and impactful because it involves choice, creativity, and supports a variety of learning styles,” explained teacher Sherry McAndrews.
