Sixth graders received a taste of Medieval Times recently when they dressed as knights and ladies from the Medieval period, played games, learned about knights of the round table, and even the purpose of a medieval falconer.
A medieval falconer walked slowly in front of the students telling them tales of the birds on his arm. The Medieval Falconer, in his authentic costume, introduced students to the history mankind shares with birds of prey – specifically the role of these magnificent birds during the English Middle Ages.
The Caton Enterprise assembly was part of Fremont Middle School’s Middle Ages activities where students learn about chivalry and the use of weapons during this time in history.
Students also studied the history of the middle ages from how plagues spread to communication systems.
