MUNDELEIN, Ill. -- It's the season of giving and students at the Fremont Elementary and Intermediate Schools are continuing a long-standing tradition.
For the 25th straight year, FSD79 students purchased holiday gifts for less-fortunate local children. This year, the students purchased gifts for 30 youths. The grades 1-2 and 3-4 multi-age classes made the short trip to Target in Mundelein where they bought various items based upon the interests of the children provided in their profiles.
The FSD79 students excitedly filled up their shopping carts with a variety of items from toys to books to clothing and other items.
The activity further exemplified the fact that it truly is better to give than to receive.
