Adjusted Bus Dismissal Schedule, After-School Activities Canceled Dec. 22

December 22, 2022

We anticipate longer travel times home from school this afternoon. Due to our tandem bus schedules, we are adjusting bus rider dismissal times for those students riding the bus home. Students who are being picked up will be supervised until the end of the regularly scheduled school day. If you are picking your child up from school, please be mindful that we must ensure safe exit of buses so please do not block bus exit routes; this is especially important at the middle school.

Afternoon bus riders will be allowed to exit school to board buses at the following times:
Fremont Middle School - 2:15 p.m.
Fremont Elementary and Intermediate Schools - 3:15 p.m.
Lincoln Early Learning Center - 3:15 p.m.

The adjusted schedule will provide additional time for our bus drivers to safely navigate the conditions and improve our chances for staying on schedule for our tandem bus routes. Students with early bus stops may be home a little earlier than expected, so please plan accordingly. We greatly appreciate your partnership, flexibility, and understanding. Please contact your child’s building administrator should you have any questions.

Enjoy a safe and wonderful winter break and a Happy New Year!

December 21, 2022

Due to the predicted weather conditions for tomorrow, Fremont School District 79 is canceling all after-school activities for Thursday, December 22. At this time, Right At School is the only exception and will be providing after-school supervision.

The National Weather Service has indicated that blizzard and flash freeze conditions are possible beginning Thursday afternoon with wind gusts of up to 55 mph that may cause power outages. We will continue to monitor the forecast and weather conditions, specifically evaluating our ability for safe bus transport. In an abundance of caution, we have asked students and staff to bring necessary materials home this afternoon to support an eLearning Day should that be necessary.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope that everyone has a safe and wonderful winter break.

Sincerely,

Trisha Kocanda
