Students Raise Thousands for Heart Cause

Fremont Elementary School’s 635 students in grades kindergarten through two collectively raised about $21,000 for the American Heart Association in its annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

The following students were the top fundraisers for the school:   Kellen Ruhm, kindergarten, raised $651; Katelyn Tomas, second grade, raised  $525; and Marina Colligan, kindergarten, raised $525.

Jump Rope For Heart is a national fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). These events engage students with jumping rope while empowering them to improve their own health and help other students with heart-health issues.
