Saving Sea Turtles

turtle project

Fremont Elementary School first and second graders raised about $550 for a sea turtle hospital in Florida. Students in the 1-2 multiage classroom learned about endangered sea turtles during their ocean study. Their money will help pay for the needs of sick and injured turtles. Students created necklaces, bookmarks, and bracelets out of seashells. They sold them during lunches and to parents at Art and Academic night. We had a great experience selling our seashell jewelry,” said multiage teacher Chris Bratta. “We learned about being polite to customers, counting and giving back change, and restocking inventory.”
