Kindness is growing at Fremont Elementary School. A recently formed kindness club is developing games to involve students on the playground, writing thoughtful phrases on the sidewalk for students to see when they enter the building, and placing little mementos like bookmarks in every child’s locker.
The kindness club reinforces kindness in the hallway, bathroom, cafeteria, and in the classroom. Students proactively give kindness messages during announcements. Students created mazes, lilypad counting games, and hopscotch games during recess.
“We are hoping that student kindness leaders will spread kindness throughout the school and that more students will become kinder to their peers and teachers,” said teacher Suzanne Tomaschtik, who leads the club with Rachel Glogovsky.
