Second Graders Get Visit from Police K-9 Unit

Oct. 11, 2018

Titan is a German Shepherd who has been with the Mundelein Police Department K-9 Unit since 2015.

Fremont School District 79 second graders got an up-close look at a special member of the Mundelein Police Department. Titan, a five-year-old German Shepherd, from the K-9 Unit was joined by his human partner, Officer Steven Kroll.

Titan joined the Mundelein Police in 2015 after being imported to the United States from Slovak Republic to begin his initial training. The dog is certified in narcotics detection, obedience, building/area searches, article searches, obstacle course training, tracking, and handler protection.

Office Kroll offered up demonstrations on how Titan is trained to help fight crime and protect the public.
